A thorough consultation with our Cosmetic Nurse or Dermal Therapist is required to assess your skin type, medical history, and suitability for the procedure.

You may be considered a suitable candidate for microneedling if you meet the following criteria:

Recovery Milestones

Week 1

Creates controlled micro-channels — defined recovery period. Immediately: red/flushed appearance (moderate sunburn). Redness peaks within hours, may persist 24-48h depending on treatment depth and individual healing. Mild tightness, warmth, sensitivity. Some may experience minor pinpoint bleeding, mild swelling, or windburn-like sensation. Practitioner applies soothing serum. Do not wash for 6-12h; then gentle fragrance-free cleanser + cool water only. No actives for 3-5 days minimum (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide). No makeup for 24h. Strict SPF 50+ from the following day. Resume normal activities within 24-48h.

Week 2

Redness and sensitivity substantially reduced or resolved by day 2-3. Skin may feel dry, tight, or slightly rough as micro-channels heal and surface renews. Mild flaking or fine peeling may occur days 3-5 — normal, allow to resolve naturally. Do not pick, peel, or exfoliate. Gentle cleansing + fragrance-free moisturiser. Actives avoided until skin feels fully recovered. SPF 50+ daily. Light exercise OK once no longer sensitive. Some patients notice an early glow or improved luminosity as initial healing completes.

Week 2 - 6

Skin surface fully healed, flaking/dryness resolved. Skin appears more even in tone and texture with improved luminosity. Collagen production underway — subtle texture improvements may be noticeable. Actives gradually reintroduced on practitioner advice (typically from day 5-7). SPF 50+ daily. Next session typically 4 weeks later to allow full collagen remodelling cycle.

Week 6 - 12

2-3 sessions done. Cumulative improvements in texture, tone, and overall quality increasingly apparent. Fine lines appear softened, mild acne scarring shows progressive improvement, skin firmness subtly enhanced. Collagen remodelling continues for several weeks post-session. SPF 50+ daily. Consistency matters. Results vary by condition, treatment depth, skin type, and healing response.

3 - 12 Months

Full course (3-6 sessions depending on condition). Significant improvement in texture, mild acne scarring, skin tone, and overall quality. Collagen remodelling peaks at 3-6 months post-final session. Results vary by condition treated, treatment depth, and healing. Meaningful improvement but does not replicate fractional laser or RF microneedling results. Maintenance every 3-6 months. SPF 50+ and consistent skincare essential.
